In Loving Memory
William Hovey Waters
William "Bill" Hovey Waters, age 90, of Inchelium, Washington passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025. He was born May 8, 1935 in Ellensburg, Washington to William Henry and Arline Virginia (Westcott) Waters.
Bill was hard working and dedicated. He worked many years as commercial fisherman in Alaska, for the Ferry County Road Department, and a farmer. Bill was a self-taught builder and craftsman. He designed and built his home on the family property where he grew up. He fell the trees, prepped and notched them, and placed each one.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors. Hunting and Fishing were among his favorite past times. He enjoyed riding horses in addition to motorcycles, snowmobiles, and four wheelers. All of these allowed him to spend time in nature and its beauty. There were many camping trips with the children over the years.
Bill was also a self-taught mechanic. One could tell him what sound a motor was making and he could tell them exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. He always had the right answer for any mechanical question that came his way.
Generosity was Bill's trademark. He was always there to offer a helping hand to others in whatever way was needed.
Not one to miss an opportunity to play prank on someone, Bill was always watching for just the right gag to pull. He was known for drinking someone else's soda and then refilling the can with something completely different for the owner's surprise!
Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Judy and Donna and son, Harvey; five grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; former wife, Linda; and many more family members.
A family graveside service is planned for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville. Danekas Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with Bill's care and arrangements. Please visit their website at danekasfuneralchapel.com for further details.
