In Loving Memory
Vincent "Vinny" Maranto
Vincent 'Vinny' Maranto was a loving husband, father, Pappa, brother, and friend. He left us unexpectedly on April 30, 2022, in Chewelah, WA.
Vince was born to Adele and Salvatore Maranto on September 29, 1949, in Shreveport, Louisiana. After high school, he moved with his family to Spokane where he met his future wife, Barbara, while working together at North's Chuckwagon. They were married the day before his 20 th birthday. Together they built a home, drove each other crazy, and had 3 loving children: Aaron, Courtney, and Breana.
Vince worked at Northwest Alloys in Addy, WA for 30 years where he created many lifelong friendships, the stories of which would be retold many, many…many…times over the years. Did you ever hear the story about the pigs named George and Lou?
His other passion, and it might be argued his greatest other than family, was his music. He started playing guitar in junior high and rare was the day since then when he didn't have one his hand. He played in a number of local bands over the years, most recently of which was Fire Creek. Sometimes he complained about being his own roadie and getting home in the wee hours and for the last 10yrs he could frequently be heard saying "I'm getting too old for this." But if you knew Vince, you knew that wasn't enough to stop him. His blood ran through his instrument and the songs were in his soul.
Vince always seemed to have a knack for fixing whatever needed fixing. He valued being able to use his skills to serve others whenever he was needed. He was our mechanic, our breakfast-maker, and has always been the soundtrack to our lives. We will remember him as a source of strength. We will treasure the memories of his silly sayings, his huckleberry pancakes, his passion for pasta and cake, the tenderness and love he had for wife and daughters, his pride in his grandsons and their accomplishments, and how he made a house a home for us.
Vincent is preceded in death by his only son, Aaron. He leaves behind his wife, Barbara, his daughters Courtney Fujita (Chris), Breana Maranto, his beloved grandsons Aaron and Apolo Fujita, his sister Nancy Maranto, and so many more that will miss him dearly.
A memorial service for Vincent is being held Friday, June 3 rd at 5:00P in the dining hall at Pinelow Park located 3806 N Deer Lake.
