Thomas "Tom"
Stanley Weinmann
Jul 21, 1951 — Sep 21, 2023
Kettle Falls
Thomas Stanley Weinmann was born on July 21, 1951, in San Fernando California and passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2023
Some of Tom's favorite memories were from his childhood days growing up in Winthrop, Washington. Here he was able to develop his love for the outdoors and spoke many times on experiences with family. Work also started here at young age spending the summers on a cattle ranch along the Twisp River.
Tom enlisted into the Coast Guard after graduation from Redmond, Oregon Highschool. He enlisted in 1970 and was active until 1974. After military service, Tom started his career working for the Federal government (USDA Forest Service). On June 5, 1976, he married Sonja I. Parker in Redmond, OR. This is where they started family. They moved to Bly, OR, and Tom attended FLETC Law Enforcement Academy in Brunswick, GA and carried dual roles as enforcement officer and engine foreman. In 1983, they moved to Republic, WA where he worked with the Republic Ranger District on the Colville National Forest as the Assistant Fire Management Officer. They made a final relocation to Kettle Falls, WA in 1990. While in Kettle Falls, Tom became the Fire Management Officer and retired in 2005 after 30+ years of service.
Tom enjoyed his years of retirement traveling the Pacific Northwest, his love for music (especially blue grass and classic rock), spending time with family, and continuing his passion for knowledge on many subjects. He was always professional in his work and believed strongly in prescribed fires as a method of protection against wildfires. He enjoyed time spent in his garden and on the back porch watching the sun set and counting the stars. They made several trips to soak in the Hot Springs of Montana. Tom took great care in nurturing and loving his family. He had an adventurous spirit, collected pins of recognition, and shared many good times with their host of friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sonja (Parker) Weinmann of Kettle Falls, WA. Three sons, Brian (Barbie) Weinmann of Prosser, WA, Doug (Trea) Weinmann of Evans, WA, and Brandon (Bobbi) Weinmann of Valley, WA. He had 12 grandchildren, Kayla (Kirby) Moore, Trinity (Robert) Snyder, Will Weinmann, Brock Weinmann, Jerin Posey, Jaylyn Zundel, Audrie Weinmann, Aiden Garner, Kameron Scott, Donovan Fuentes, Eli Weinmann, Thomas Weinmann and 4 great-grandchildren, Sutton Moore, Cohen Moore, Barett Snyder, and Everett Zundel. Siblings Frank Weinmann of Redmond, OR, Bill Furman of Nevada, and sister-in-law Lorraine Weinmann of Bend, OR.
He was greeted in death by his parents Hal and Dorothy Weinmann, siblings Greg Weinmann, and Ovie Weinmann.
