Kettle Falls
Thelma Louise Siegel
Thelma Louise Siegel, age 70, a cake decorating extraordinaire and lifetime resident of the Kettle Falls and Colville, WA communities passed away on February 10, 2024, at her home. Thelma was born on December 14, 1953, in Chewelah, WA the daughter of Don Leon and Jacqueline June (Covey) Warren.
Thelma was raised in the Colville, WA area where she attended and graduated in 1972. It was during her high school years Thelma found friendship and fell in love with Robert "Butch" Siegel and wed on June 5, 1971, in Colville. In 1973, Thelma and Butch welcomed their first child, Tanya. Thelma worked from home and started her role of wife and now mother of their now growing family. Their family grew by two as they welcomed their sons, Brent and then Brad. As the kids grew older, she began a home-based enterprise with Avon. Thelma's natural charm and mother's love for all people poured over her beauty care clients. Thelma was soon being recognized by the Avon company for her sales and service. Thelma had also discovered her artistic passion for decorating desserts and soon others discovered her ability as well. She offered to help at the Excell Food Bakery for one year and stayed with them until they closed their doors ten years later. Thelma had a "frosting following" and so she continued to offer her personal care and attention to every customer at Super One Foods. She decorated every dessert with attention to detail and a touch of her heart. Her canvas for inspiring smiles included cupcakes, cake skins, sheet cakes, cheesecakes, sugar cookies, cake pops, wedding cakes, anniversary cakes, retirement cakes, birthday cakes and cakes for all of life's other events.
Thelma's life of love was created by faith and a personal relationship with God guided by the Holy Spirit. She was faithful in her study of the bible and concordance. Devoted in her relentless and selfless time praying over family, friends, and the one-off acquaintance. But above all, Thelma was faithful in her obedience to the Lord. She provided hope and assurance through her kindred and covering spirit, mothering love, compassion, and her willingness to listen. Thelma took great pleasure in making birthday cakes and popcorn balls with the helping hands of her grandchildren. When she had spare time, it was usually spent reading the Bible or with a crochet needle in hand. Perfecting her creative gifts, Thelma would often search for new ways to decorate and design desserts. She was the prayer warrior all needed and the wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter and friend all deserve.
Thelma was preceded in death by Parents Don and Jackie Warren, bother Rev. Alden Warren
She is survived by her husband, Robert "Butch" Siegel; children, Tanya Fox of Spokane Valley, WA, Brent Siegel (Angelica) of Farmville, VA, and Brad Siegel (Mindy) of Chewelah, WA; grandchildren, Tyler (Cassey) Fox, Logan Fox, Kyle (Katy) Fox, Alyssa, Malesha, Nakoda and Brent Siegel Jr, Mackenzie Mally, Madison, McKaelyn, Megan, Molly, Maxee, and Morgan Siegel; great granddaughter, Braxtyn, Weylon and Memphis; brother, Maurice "Mort" Debbie of Addy, WA; sister, Juanitta Pickens (Carl) of Chewelah, WA, sister-in-law Vickie Warren-Achison (Jerry) of Spokane Wa; and a host of extended family and friends.
