Teena Marie Berg

Teena M. Berg, age 62, a 2 year resident of Colville, WA, passed away on September 22, 2021 in Spokane, WA with complications of COVID.  Teena was born on October 8, 1958 in Henderson, NV the daughter of Paul Edward and Betty (Vandergriff) Johnson.

Teena began grade school in Henderson, NV and then moved with her family to Spokane where she completed both grade school and high school.  She graduated in 1976 from Mead High School.  Following high school, Teena married Ray Clowser and they began a family in Colville, WA.  Together they shared in the birth of three children, Eric, Brad and Sheri.  Teena worked in the home and enjoyed her role as a mother to her growing children.  She and Ray later divorced and she moved her family in the early 1990's to Wenatchee, WA.  While in Wenatchee, Teena began a career with the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) in Child Protective Services.  In 1995 she traveled to Colville with her kid to visit friends at Lake Thomas near Colville.  There she was introduced to Rick Berg and two months later they exchanged vows at the Hitching Post in Coeur d'Alene, ID on November 21, 1995.  That same day they moved into their newly purchased home in Spokane where they resided until 2019.  Teena worked with DSHS and also served in the departments of Foster Care Licensing and Welfare.  She retired in 2019 and moved to Colville where she and Rick began sharing a slower pace of life and location.

Teena and Rick enjoyed riding dirt biking, snowmobiling and ice skating with their family.  They also spent summers on the water, boating, water skiing and swimming.  In retirement, she found enjoyment in gardening and caring for her landscaping and yard.  She loved her grandchildren and shared time with them on weekend adventures throughout the year.  Teena offered a compassionate heart and was a great listener.  She loved to share her time with family and keep everyone connected.  Her last two summers were spent at their Thomas Lake cabin spoiling her grandchildren and creating lifelong memories on a daily basis.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Johnson.

Teena is survived by her husband, Rick Berg, at the home; children Eric Clowser (Shawna) of Salem, OR, Brad Clowser (Chelsie) of Spokane, WA, Sheri Britton (Jeremiah) of Spokane, WA, Kristopher Berg (Kristen) of Post Falls, ID 7 grandchildren; 5 sibilings, Reba, Reesa, Rita, Brett and Amy; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

A graveside service and niche interment will be held for Mrs. Teena Marie Berg, beginning at 11:00 am, October 4 ^th at the Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville, WA.  Her brother, Pastor Brett Johnson will officiate.  Memorial contributions may be given toward the cure of ovarian cancer and the care of those fighting against it.  Please visit the online memorial and sign the guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com .  Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.
