In Loving Memory

Steven Floyd Tolliver

Steven Floyd Tolliver, age 61, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Boyds, WA on the evening of February 3, 2023. Steve was born in Colville, WA on October 10, 1961 to Lawrence and Gladys Tolliver(Eslick). The family resided in Orient where Steve and his sisters grew up. The small town life they lived surrounded by farms and forests was perfect for a boy like Steve, who loved the outdoors and never had a lack of friends and cousins to get into mischief with.

After graduating from Kettle Falls High School Steve enlisted in the US Navy. He was sent to San Diego where he met and married Gloria Sizemore before he began his seven year stint in the Navy. It was during this time that Steve and Gloria had two boys. Ray and his little brother Jimmy. After their divorce Steve moved to Arizona and then to Spokane and eventually back to the Kettle Falls area where he drove chip trucks for a few companies over the years, most recently for Sutco International.

Steve's love for music started in grade school when he learned to play the trumpet, and play it well. He later went on to teach himself how to play guitar. Often playing strictly by ear. He wrote and performed several of his own songs over the years, often with the audience of the local Barstow Grange Play enjoying his many talents of guitar playing, singing, directing and acting in the plays. He loved his music and could pick up his guitar and grab a rock song from his head to entertain whoever might be nearby to listen.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Ray Tolliver, in 2015. He is survived by his mother, Gladys Tolliver, from Little Boulder Creek north of Orient, his sons Ray Tolliver of Plymouth, MA and James (Jimmy) Tolliver of Oklahoma, his sisters Arleen Tolliver of Little Boulder Creek, Tina Matney of Barstow and Larena Snyder of Colbert, WA. He also is survived by two grandchildren and one great grandchild, many nieces and nephews and countless friends and relatives who all loved him very much.

The family will announce a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Please visit the online memorial and sign the guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com. Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is entrusted with his care.
