Steven David Gilchrist
Steven David Gilchrist, age 55, a resident of Vancouver, WA passed away on Aug. 16, 2022 in Vancouver. Steve was born on Aug. 31, 1966 in Quincy, WA the son of Norman David and Marilyn (Sanders) Gilchrist.
Steve began grade school in Waterville, WA before his family moved to Colville. Steve then attended in Colville and graduated with the Colville High School class of 1984. He moved to Provo, UT where he studied political science at Brigham Young University. On July 20, 1996 he married Christina Lynne Fechner and together they moved to Pullman. Their family grew with the birth of their daughter Mary. Steve loved his role as a stay-at-home-dad taking odd jobs to help-out along the way. He also drove bus and worked at the Washington State University making "Cougar Gold" cheese. Their family began a succession of moves in 2004. They began with a moved to West Virginia followed two years later to Pennsylvania. In 2013 they shared a brief stay in Rhode Island before returning to Pennsylvania and then onto Green Bay, WI. More recently, they had settled into Vancouver, WA. Having resided there for the past two years, Steve took up "Door-Dash".
His passion was music and he sang in several commercial jingles during his college years. He was a wet shaving fanatic and enjoyed any products related to the art. Steve also stayed up to date on politics across the globe and welcomed a whole hearted debate and discussion on the topic. He has an uncanny ability to learn and speak new languages and these skills carried with him into his final days as he reverted to Brazilian Portuguese from his mission days, during his final hours. He was a man of great charisma and love for his family.
