In Loving Memory

Steve Shaffer

Steve Shaffer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, Vietnam veteran and hero, passed away on April 17, 2024 at the age of 77.

Most people in the area knew Steve as a retired veteran, but in his early life he worked as an engineer and geologist in the oil business and was also a pilot, both helicopter and fixed wing.

He moved to Kettle Falls in 2001 with his wife Sally.  Together they built the Crown Creek Saloon and have hosted many guests over the past 20+ years, which he dearly loved entertaining.  They also made several pieces of lodge pole pine furniture that many of you still own today.

Steve is survived by his wife Sally, his daughter Tricia Berry, and his grandson Michael Berry III.

Steve's celebration of life will be held at the Crown Creek Saloon June 8, 2024 from 2pm til 6pm.  If visiting outside of these times, please contact Sally before coming by.
