Obituary

Stephen R Pratt passed away on October 8, 2023 in Spokane, WA from complications due to Alzheimer's.  He was 80 years old.

Steve was born to Floyd (Don) and Eleanor Pratt on Feb. 25, 1943 in Portland, OR.  He was the second of seven children and was raised in Pleasant Valley, WA where he attended the one room schoolhouse until he moved up and graduated from Kettle Falls H.S.

Steve married Joanne Hansen on January 20, 1968.  They were married for 55 years.  Together they lived in Kettle Falls, owned a beer distributorship, and raised their two children, Pam and Ryan.  Later, they moved to Yakima to buy and run another beer distributorship.  Summers were spent on Lake Roosevelt enjoying the cabin they have owned for fifty years.  He was generous almost to a fault with a heart of gold.  Steve was a smart and hardworking businessman who expected no less from those who worked for him.  He was a wonderful husband, the very best father, unapologetically himself and would always provide a laugh.  If asked he would tell you "If he were any better, he would be twins" and that he "never had a bad day." But his biggest joy was the role of grandfather.

Steve is survived by his wife, Joanne; daughter Pamela (Pat) Hildman; son Ryan (Rhonda) Pratt; and 4 grandchildren who adored him Grant, Blake, Jansen, and Brayden.  He is also survived by his sister Susan Pratt Bolles; brothers Tim (Cheryl) Pratt and Donnie (Wendy) Pratt, as well as dozens of nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his father, Don Pratt, mother Eleanor Pratt, brother Wayne Pratt and sisters Sarah Pratt and Anita Pratt Glidewell.

In lieu of a memorial service or flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Steve's memory to: Alzheimer's Association 19031 33rd Ave W., Suite 301, Lynwood, WA 98036 or Alz.org.  Please visit the on-line memorial and sign his guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com. Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is entrusted in care.
