Stanley, a.k.a. Buster, lived his earliest years on a ranch in North Dakota. His family later moved to Washington where he graduated as class valedictorian from Grand Coulee High School in 1944. He served with the US Army on Okinawa during WWII and again in Germany as an Army reservist during the Korean war. He graduated from the State College of Washington now known as Washington State University in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He married Carol Markham of Colville, Washington in 1954. Stanley raised a family of three sons with Carol as he fashioned a long career in the cement industry.  He traveled the country while working for Ideal Cement, River Cement, Medusa Cement, General Portland and Lafarge. From early in life, Stanley was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, boating, snow skiing, hunting and fishing. He retired with Carol to Chewelah Washington in 1989 where, in his later years, he enjoyed restoring classic cars, restoring and flying vintage aircraft as well as plenty of hunting, fishing and skiing. He was an active member of the Chewelah United Church of Christ. He married a second time to Margaret Holland in 2008 after being widowed from Carol. Then moved to Plano TX in 2019 after being widowed a second time. Stanley was a man of kindness and good heart.
