Sherryl Darlene
Mason
Oct 13, 1953 — Dec 11, 2023
Colville
Sherryl Darlene Mason, age 70, passed away December 11, 1953 in Colville, WA surrounded by family. Sherryl was born on October 13, 1953 in Laramie, WY, the daughter of Charles LaVerne and Hazel Nadine (Martin) Stinson.
As a young girl, Sherryl moved with her family to California while her father was stationed at March Air Force Base. In the early 1960's, they moved again to Colorado where Sherryl completed her education. She married Cody Vinter Mason on July 30, 1971 and they soon began a family with the birth of their sons Garry and then Justin. Sherryl worked as a homemaker while the boys where young and they resided on the local ranches where Cody was working. While residing on ranches she couldn't help but watch her love for all animals grow. She often spoke of the sheep and her dogs (especially Chihuahua's) as her favorite of all. Sherryl offered her time as a volunteer in the community at a variety of places including the local book store.
Sherryl enjoyed reading books especially those with plots steeped in passion and romance. She crocheted many treasures for her family from stuffed animals to blankets. Due to a difficult upbringing, her exterior was postured to guard her soft heart and those she loved with a bold and very forthcoming, even at times blunt, character. Sherryl's kindness and empathy poured forth in the tears that welled in her eyes while watching commercials for the SPCA and Shriner's.
Sherryl was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hazel Stinson; husband, Cody Mason; siblings, Charles Stinson, Evelynn Stinson, Dwayne Stinson, Marion Stinson and Franklin Stinson.
Sherryl is survived by her children, Garry Mason, Justin (Tammy) Mason of Kansas; siblings, Loral Smith of Burlington, KS, Ester Stinson of Ordway, CO, Gary Stinson (Maurene) and Carroll Stinson; multiple grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Sherryl Darlene Mason will be placed to rest in a niche at the Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville, WA. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of your choice. Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.
