Sherry Lee Rose
Sherry Lee Rose (Spears) was born in Shelbyville, IL on October 19, 1956 to Barbara Spears (Walter) and John Spears. She was second of 5 siblings.
Her mother and children moved to Addy in 1964. Sherry went to school at the Sunnyside School for the 3rd and 4th grades. The family then moved to Colville where she completed her education through high school. While in high school, she worked at Newlands Café and later the Coast-to-Coast Store. Sherry and a likeminded friend, decided to see the world. The two friends spun the bottle (actually) and traveled and worked together in Boise, ID, Juneau, AK and Monterey, CA. Sherry returned to Colville where she worked at the Red Bull Steak House.
Sherry met the love of her life, Randy Rose and they married June 16, 1978. While starting a family, Sherry operated a daycare and worked at Excell Foods. In 1991, Sherry took a job with the US Forest Service, where she worked in Human Resources and assisted in Fire Camp Operations. The Human Resources jobs were transferred to Albuquerque, NM in 2005. Sherry left the USFS and transferred to the National Park Service in Carlsbad, NM in 2006 and later back to the USFS in Albuquerque, NM in 2007. In 2015, Sherry was appointed as the Program Manager for Workers Compensation for the National Park Service for Region 1 (Western half of the US). She managed to negotiate an office in Grand Coulee, WA. Sherry and husband Randy moved back to Washington.
Sherry retired from the USFS in 2017 when her and Randy moved back to their home in Colville. Sherry continued working during fire season for USFS Wildfire Compensation Claims in fire camps and over the phone. She also assisted with the Comp. Claims National call line and the Covid Support call line through the USFS until 2020.
Sherry loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchild (another on the way), all of her family and friends and the Bunko ladies. She liked camping, taking road trips, picking huckleberries, attending the extra-curricular activities of her children and grandchildren, craft shows, family dinners and the get togethers of all kinds. She also loved flowers, gardening, was involved in Girl Scouts, Relay for Life, the Multiple Sclerosis walk and was always volunteering to help with multiple community events.
Sherry succumbed to cancer on December 14, 2023.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Barbara Chester and brother, Bob Chester.
Sherry is survived by her husband Randy Rose of 45 years at the home, daughter, Carly Jo Rose-Fufa and husband Adam, with grandchildren Hannah, Gracie and Joshua (Auburn, WA), daughter, Erin Elizabeth Kerbs (Rose) and husband Thomas, with grandchildren, Dillon, Aubrey and Logan (Spokane, WA), daughter, Courtney Randell Hosch (Rose) and husband Chris, with grandchildren Riley Bunnell and wife Blessing (great grandson Wynnston and another on the way) and Keegan Hosch (Colville, WA), Naomi Riggins (Spears) and husband Randy ( Phoenix, AZ), Susan Ramshaw (Spears) and husband Jeff (Arlington, WA),sister, Charla Spears-Flammond (Babb.MT), brother John Spears (Wenatchee, WA), sister, Kathy Thain (Chester) and husband Randy (Nine Mile Falls, WA ), sister Debbie Westerman (Chester) and husband Dean (Spokane, WA), sister, Linda Cole (Chester) (Spokane, WA ), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment and Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
