Obituary

Sharon Elaine Gosen was reunited with her Lord and Savior on March 1, 2022. She was born in  Yakima, Washington on December 9, 1944 to Harold and Helen Stifel. Harold and Helen would later have another daughter, Jan, who would make Sharon a big sister and be one of her best friends through her entire life.

Sharon attended grade school at Mill Creek Country School. Growing up in Colville, she found a love for music, art, and God.

Sharon met and married George Schernitzki who she would have two beautiful children with, Mark and Lori. She loved her children endlessly and took great pride in sharing God's love with them through her example and by attending church services. Their family lived on a beautiful farm with 80 acres where she raised her beloved Scottish Highlander Cows which she saw as big, friendly pets. Though, her favorite pet was her precious cockapoo Munchkin, who went everywhere with her. Sharon and George parted ways after 27 years.

Sharon met the love of her life, Jim Gosen, while working at a CPA's office in Colville. Sharon and Jim were friends for many years and were married on December 16, 1995 while surrounded by family and friends. Their union would bring together their two families, where she welcomed Jim's children Rhonda, Debi, and Gary and numerous grandchildren as her own.

Sharon was a creative, beautiful soul who emanated love and compassion everywhere she went. She loved to garden, growing the most beautiful flowers and sharing her produce with family and friends. She enjoyed picking huckleberries, canning and freezing what she harvested and grew. You could often find her playing piano, painting one of her hillbilly creations, or admiring her extensive collection of Precious Moments figurines.

The greatest joy in Sharon's life was her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. And they adored her. She was an amazing wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

Sharon is preceded in death by her father and mother, Harold and Helen Stifel.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jim; her sister, Jan (Tim) Neville of Colville; her children, Mark (Robin) Schernitzki of Kettle Falls, Lori Bishop (David) of Colville; her step children, Debi (Karl) Sporleder, Rhonda (Gene) Fox, Gary Gosen; and her grandchildren Jeffrey Bishop of Spokane; Kevin (Amber) Schernitzki of Colville; Kassy (Andy) Dupuis of Kettle Falls; Jon (Grace) Gosen, Catherine (Ethan) Liebing, Sarah Gosen, Rebekah (Evan) Liebing, William Gosen, James (Kristina) Parks, Kristin (Ej) Hall, Tyler Parks, Amber (Corry) Kepka, Joseph Macek, Katie (Jeremy) Harris; and her 25 great grandchildren.
