Sharon Darlene
Boston
Sep 29, 1940 — Mar 29, 2025
Colville
Sharon Darlene Boston, age 84, a 29-year resident of the Colville, WA area, unexpectedly passed away on March 29, 2025, in Spokane, WA. Sharon was born on Sept. 29, 1940, in Penticton, Canada, the daughter of William and Bessie (Knowles) Keyes.
Sharon lived throughout Washington and spent her teen years on the Hoopa Indian Reservation in California where she started her family. Sharon found her way back to Washington and met the love of her life, Charlie Boston.
Sharon and her husband Charlie purchased a cabin on Highway 20 which they lovingly named the "The Pend Oreille". The cabin hosted many family and friend events until health concerns relocated them into the town and closer to their family in Colville.
Sharon loved to garden and had a natural touch that made her garden grow into stunning landscape that any master gardener would envy. She took time to enjoy passing wildlife and took in the needy neighborhood critters as her own. She had a knack for fishing and no matter, lake or stream, Sharon often brought home the largest catch. Above all, Sharon loved being near her children and grandchildren. She cheered from the bleachers, always had an ear to listen, and gave guidance through hugs and words of wisdom.
As a mother she was always there to give advice even if you didn't want it and lord knows she was always right in the end. You didn't even have to be her natural born child. If she loved you, you became her child. No ifs, ands, or buts. She was the glue that kept our family together. At any given moment she always had plenty of anecdotes about her family to share. Everyone always knew that if she said "I have something to show you" it would be a 3-hour trip down memory lane.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bessie; two daughters, Gail Remington and Leesa Boston; and her brother Gordon Keyes.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Boston of Colville, WA; children, Leonard Boston of Colville, WA, Kathy Callan (Pat) of Colville, WA, Melanie Hernandez of Hoopa, CA and Tina Selenas of Crescent city, CA; grandchildren, Leslee Sutton of Anacortes WA, James Larsen of Southern Pines NC, Sarah Smith of Fredonia NY, Jason McCullough of Hoopa CA, Justin Hernandez of Stanwood WA, James Hernandez of Hoopa CA, Rebecca Ammon of Crescent City CA, Andrew Salinas of Crescent City CA, Lea Boston of Spokane, WA, Jordan Pullen and Hayley of Billings Montana, and Jacob Remington of
Colville, WA.; beloved dogs, Poppy and Shep of Colville, WA; and a host of extended family and friends.
Sharon will be the focus of several family gatherings and shared in reflections of words and wisdom for lifetimes to come. Memorial contributions may be given to organizations supporting the needs of those who struggle with mental stability. Please visit the online memorial and sign the guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com. Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.
