Rosemarie Ames Phillips, age 90, a lifetime resident of Northport, WA passed away on March 17, 2023 at her home and surrounded by the love of her family.  Rosemarie was born on August 17, 1932 in Northport, WA on the back porch of her parents home.  She was the last child born to Walter and Elfrieda (Strecker) Ames.

Rosemarie had a wonderful childhood and attended school in Northport.  She had her "eye" on Glenn Phillips since freshman year of high school.  It wasn't until the summer of 1947 that he finally noticed her and they became high school sweethearts.  Rosemarie graduated from high school in 1950.  She then entered nurses training in Spokane and later married Glenn on July 6, 1951.  Rosemarie returned to Northport with Glenn and started a life that included raising seven children, running a large cattle ranch, and building Sheep Creek Hydro.

Rosemarie lived life to the fullest.  She had a giving spirit, was always involved in community events and inspired the lives of many.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Glenn; parents, Walter and Elfrieda Ames; siblings, Walt, Maybelle, Lawrence and Bernadette and her great granddaughter, Savannah Day.

Rosemarie is survived by her older brother, Clarence Ames; seven children, Jesse (Suzie) Phillips, Julie Sowards, Cindy (Brian) Day, Mike (Connie) Phillips, Larry (Christy) Phillips, Molly (Bill) Shuler and Levi (Stephanie) Phillips; 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

A memorial services will be held this summer at the Phillips Ranch.  She will be laid to rest in an ash internment at the Northport Cemetery in Northport, WA.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Northport Historical Society, P.O.
