Richard "Rick" Cornett
Richard Keith Cornett, age 63, passed away Wednesday June 9 th , 2022, at his Addy home with his family by his side. Rick Was born on October 26, 1958 in Chelan, Washington to Carmon and Carol Cornett. Most Knew Rick as "The Butcher Man".
Rick graduated from Okanogan High School in 1977. During his school years, he worked for his dad on his butcher truck. He went on to body and fender school in Spokane, WA. After school, he opened a body shop in Brewster, WA, where he met his now wife, Turesa, and the two moved to Colville. Together, they started their own butcher business and raised four children. They spent 36 years working together and loving each other.
Rick never met a stranger. Everyone he came in contact with had to cancel their afternoon plans, because he sure loved to talk! He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his family, riding motorcycles, taking his yearly trip with his wife, and his dear friends, Ron and Belinda.
He will live on in the lives of his friends and family that love him so very much.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Carmon Cornett, and his mother, Carol Cornett. He is survived by his wife, Turesa Cornett; his brothers, Mike of Addy, WA, and Kevin of Okanogan, WA; his four kids, Heidi Mitchell of Colville, WA, Laci and Nathan of Sentinel, AZ, Ryan and Alynna Cornett of Chewelah, and Dylan Mitchell of Addy, WA; his grandchildren, Colby Simmons of Louisiana, Christian Rendon of Florida, Anna Simmons of Colville, WA, Wyatt McNitt of Florida, Graysen Clemons of Colville, WA, Maddie Clemmons of Colville, WA, Jaden Mitchell, Tristan Mitchell, and Carson Mitchell of Addy, and Trey Cornett of Chewelah; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Simons of Louisiana; he is also survived by his loved Arkansan Family.
He left behind so many people he loved: Tracy and Joanie Ferguson, Carrie and Dennis Hawkins, Johnny and Annette Elliott, Ron and Belinda Masters, Linda and Jim Holbeck, Wayne and Trudy Curry- The paper is not big enough to print all of the names of people that meant so much to him.
Donation can be made to Hospice of Spokane in Memory of Richard Cornett at: hospiceofspokane.org under "Giving". There will be a celebration of life in the future. Danekas Funeral Chapel is entrusted in care.
