In loving memory of Richard Raymond Cokusis

May7, 1949- November13,2024

Richard Raymond Cokusis entered into life on May 7, 1949 in Gary Indiana. Richard was one of five children, his siblings Camille, Gus, Cynthia, and Andrea.

Richard served in the United States Army in Korea. After his service to our country, he became a journeyman carpenter. In 1984, Richard married his first wife, Briana Casolars. They had four children together, Heather, Joshua, Christopher, and Jacob. Richard delighted in spending time with his children as they grew. He loved tossing a ball for the boys when they were playing baseball and wanting to practice, he always showed up for their sporting events and loved taking his daughter for motorcycle rides when she was young and was always willing to drive to and from her school dances as she got older. Richard and Briana were divorced in 2008.

In November 2011, Richard married Donna Ables. Their beautiful family continued to grow as Richard's children married and had children of their own. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and the light of his life. Richard and Donna continued to grow in their love for each other and in their faith as well.

Richard loved to camp, fish, hike, and hunt. He took many adventures as well as harvesting a record black bear. Richard loved to build, and also made many memorable rides on his Harley Davidson with his family. Richard enjoyed participating in many church activities and was deeply devoted to his faith.

Richard entered into rest on November 13, 2024. He is survived by his daughter Heather Rider and her husband Brandon, their twins Brooklyn and Hadley; son, Joshua Cokusis, and his wife Brenna and their two children, Ellie and Noah; son, Christopher and his wife Mikayla, and his son Jacob, Richard's beloved wife Donna Cokusis, her daughters Jill and Melanie, Melanie's two children, Alexandra and Patrick.
