In Loving Memory
Randy Joe Crain
Mr. Randy Joe Crain, age 56, passed away October 15, 2024 in Spokane Valley, WA. Randy was born June 5, 1968 in Spokane, WA.
A gentle giant with a wicked sense of humor, Randy loved talking to everyone. He didn't know a stranger. Randy was known to be fiercely loyal to his family and friends. A kind man, he never spoke badly of others. Instead, he would look for the good in all that he encountered.
Randy worked as a chef for Circus Circus in Las Vegas, NV before returning to Chewelah. He loved to cook and prepare big meals. His favorite was Thanksgiving. Randy was also an excellent baker. He made his grandma's cinnamon rolls often. When asked what kind of cookies he liked, he would respond with "Hot or Cold."
Randy loved to tinker and putter. He especially enjoyed helping his parents at their business, "The Treasure Box." He always had a project in the works. In his free time, he enjoyed gaming. His niece and nephew would come over and challenge him to play. They loved their Uncle Randy and the time spent with him. Randy's own Uncle Frank would also stop in every time he was in Chewelah and visit with him and play games as well. The two were very close. Randy collected all things Dragons and Wizards.
Randy suffered from an auto immune disorder that attacked the discs in his back. The condition caused the discs to become hard. This resulting in him having a hunchback. Randy was originally 6'4" tall. As a result of the disorder, he stood barely over 5' tall. He suffered greatly but never lost his sense of humor or kind heart. To help others, he grew out his hair to be donated to Locks of Love.
Randy is now standing tall in Heaven and walking and talking with his Grandma Verlene. He has no pain…NO PAIN.
Randy is preceded in death by his grandmother, Verlene Burns. He is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Minnie Crain; sister, Tammy; nephew, Jorey; and niece, Jazmin; and Aunts, Betsy and Barbara; Uncles, Frank, BJ, Jim, and Bo. The family wishes to thank Chesterton Home Care Agency – especially caregiver, Velee and the nursing staff at Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley for their kindness and tremendous care given to Randy.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, at 1:00 pm on October 29, 2024 at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Chewelah, WA with a private burial to follow.
