In Loving Memory of

Phyllis Mae Banks

Phyllis Mae Banks was born in Kewa, Washington on May 1 1936 to William "Bill" and Nellie (Fry) Rima. She grew up raising horses and loved and cared for all of the animals on the family farm.

Phyllis graduated from Inchelium, High School in 1951 at the age of fifteen. On November 12 of that same year, she married George Banks. Phyllis and George had two beautiful daughters, Sandra and Marie.

Phyllis loved to garden and canned many wonderful foods for her family and friends to enjoy. It was a labor of love, and she gave her time generously to it.

Phyllis and George loved bowling, playing games together, and spending time with their family. They enjoyed camping, attending rodeos and visiting the local fairs together. They were married forty-one years. Phyllis lost her beloved husband in 1992.

Another big part of Phyllis' life was meeting Matt Boyd Senior, who loved golf. They spent years and many miles traveling through various states chasing "the little white ball." Phyllis and Matt enjoyed their adventures centered around golfing and casinos. Casinos were definitely her favorite.

Matt Boyd passed away in 2023. Phyllis affectionately called Matt her "forever friend."

Phyllis Mae Banks passed peacefully on August 3, 2024. She passed in the home that she loved and helped to build in 1965.

Phyllis is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Smith and Marie Gross, her seven grandchildren, Cindy Thomas, Rob Thomas, Amanda Thomas, Tonya Gross, Andrea Gross, Josh Whitney and Richard Whitney. She is also survived by her many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her beautiful memory lives on in our hearts and in our lives.
