Peter Karatzas (Apostolos Evagelos Emmanuel Karatzas)

February 2, 1949 - September 20, 2021

Peter was taken from us far too soon following a brave and relentless battle with cancer. Born in Greece, Peter left the island at the age of 16 in hopes of seeing the world and providing for his family. He first stopped in the Bahamas where he was taught about pastries, breads, desserts, and other fine cuisine in the hotels. His next adventure took him on vacation cruise liners where he developed his skills in bartending, and French cuisine. He continued to travel around the world absorbing knowledge from all cultures in regards to hospitality and fine dining. Peter was a resident of Colville for 33 years and touched the lives of many people with his unforgettable personality and eclectic food. He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother (of Kalymnos, Greece) and is survived by his wife Cherryl, children Vagelie, Margaret, and Telly, and grandchildren Apostolos, Xander, Evangeline, Melina, and Markus.
