Peggy May Brooks

Peggy May Brooks passed away at her home in Colville, Washington, July 5, 2022 at the age of 73. Peggy was born October 10, 1948, in Spokane, Washington, to the late Donald and Beverly Fyfe.

Peggy graduated from Freeman High School in Rockford, Washington. After high school she worked at a nursing home as a nursing assistant. While attending Spokane Community College she met the love of her life, Joe Brooks.  They were married in 1973.  She remained a devoted companion, field hand, chief cook and bottle washer for the next 50 years while they ranched near Arden, Washington.

Peggy was gifted with the ability to recall detail.  You were guaranteed to be on the winning side if teamed up with her in a rousing game of Trivial Pursuit.  She especially loved to travel.  Following retirement, Joe and Peggy toured nearly all of the United States, making new friends along the way.  Just prior to her sudden death from a stroke they capped off their travels on tour through Scotland, England and Ireland. When she wasn't traveling, she loved reading, cross stitch, and oil painting.

Peggy was survived by her husband of almost 50 years, one brother, Donald Fyfe of Spokane, and several nieces and nephews.

The services for Peggy will begin with a graveside service on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the Highland Cemetery in Colville, Washington at 11:00 a.m.  A memorial service will follow at the Arden Community Hall at 1:00 p.m. Please visit the on-line memorial and sign the guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com.
