Norman Roosevelt Ahrens

Norman R. Ahrens passed away peacefully on April 3, 2023, at the age of 89. He was born August 21, 1933 in Payette, ID to parents Floyd and Helen (Sowers) Ahrens.

Norm was a devoted Ham Radio operator, NASCAR fanatic, loved fishing and traveling. In his younger years he raced motorcycles and won numerous trophies.

Norm spent 2 years as a reserve in the Navy then he served active duty in the Navy from 1951 – 1955 as a Seaman Bosun Mate. He worked at Boeing for 2 ½ years then got a job with the Postal Service where he worked for 26 ½ years.

Norm married his first wife, Rose, in 1964 and they were together for almost 40 years before she passed from Cancer. Norm and Rose moved to Colville in December of 1989.

Norm met and married Helen Rauch from Canada on February 20, 2010. He lost Helen December 19, 2022. Norm never had any children of his own, but he had numerous step children that he cared for.

Norm is survived by one sister, Gerry, of Payette, Idaho. Norm was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd & Helen Ahrens; first wife, Rose, 2nd wife, Helen; his sister, Pam and his brother, Bob.

At Norm's request, there will be no services. His wishes were to be Cremated and go home to Payette, Idaho.
