Obituary

Michael Henry Bear
July 5, 1950-January 10, 2024

"The bottom line is", "oh well", "if you see me getting smaller, it's because I'm leaving." "Boo-ya baby" "DUDE!" these are just some of the phrases of Micheal Henry Bear, aka "Papa Bear", "Ol'man bear" or just simply Bear. Micheal was anything but ordinary, he had a certain charm, he was silly, fun loving, good natured, easy spirited and (almost) always wearing a welcoming smile. He was always staying busy as a bee, or I guess a bear, working on his next venture, helping others or serving his community.

He owned many different businesses and worked in a few trades throughout his years on earth. Carpentry being his focus, but he was a jack of all trades! He even owned a clothing store back in the years of him being a young cub. "Bear essentials clothing" clever right?

He enjoyed working on his model trains, building his own landscapes and buildings, listening to classic rock music and cherished being a grandparent the most. He had a hat that said, "I wish I had known how fun grandchildren were, I would have had them first." I'm willing to bet that's a common thought amongst grandparents.

He grew up in the Bay Area of California where he lived until 1993. He then ventured up north and set down roots in the great Pacific Northwest to be closer to his wife's family. Marcus being the place he resided the longest, working there from 1998 to 2012.

He was active in his community being a volunteer firefighter for Marcus and kettle falls, even be the chief in Marcus, for nearly 20 years, was the cider press bear from the late 90s until about 2011, part of the Colville's gun club in his late years as well as a donator to the NRA.

He spent the last of his days in his youngest daughter's home surrounded by love, listening to his young grandchildren play, tiny footsteps down the halls and giggles echoing through the walls. No number of words can truly ever do justice to the story of his life, to say He will be greatly missed is an understatement.

He is survived by his wife Lynell Price-Bear. His children Christopher PriceBear, Kayla Kifer-Bear, Beau Larsen (son in law), Keyra Mclaughlin, Kevin Mclaughlin (son in law) and Randy Conway. His grandchildren Bianka Larsen, Rudy Larsen, Alexis Mclaughlin and Jazmin McLaughlin. Three great grandchildren and his brother Vicente Perez.

Celebration to be held at the old Marcus chapel on Saturday, April 20, 2024 beginning at 2 pm.  Come ready to swap stories and dance to live classic rock! Bring your favorite pizza or pizza side because it's a pizza party potluck! "BOO-YA, BOO-YA, BOO-YA!!!"
