Marilyn Louise Smith

Marilyn Louise Smith, age 76, passed away on December 9, 2021, in Chewelah, Washington.  Marilyn was born on June 22, 1945 to Russell and Charlotte (Graf) Warren in Bremerton, Washington.

The daughter of a travelling preacher, Marilyn spent her early childhood in Kennewick, frequently moving from town to town in the Pacific Northwest as her father preached at various churches.  Marilyn became quite accustomed to the life of a traveler, and once she was out on her own, she continued to travel, spending time in many places between Oregon and Washington including Kennewick, WA, Portland, OR, and Longview, WA.  During her time in Oregon, Marilyn found a passion for adult care, and she would start a care home that she would run for several years.

In her free time, Marilyn was a skilled crafter, creating works of art with things like embroidery hoops and teddy bears.  She also loved to play games with her friends and family, especially dominos, Yahtzee, Skip-Bo and Scrabble.  Marilyn was close to many of her grandchildren, and made sure that they would inherit her honest personality and infectious sense of humor.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Charlotte Warren, a grandson and two great grandchildren.  She is survived by her daughters, Karen, Molly, Bonnie, and Cheryl; her brother, John; 17 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren, as well as her caregivers, Karen Ott and Brandie.
