Margaret - The Love of My Life

60 years plus 9

A long time ago,

I met this Lady

that I got to know.

63 years plus more

of our married life,

happy times and sad

she was a good wife.

She raised 2 children

I helped when I could,

she took care of the kids

like a good mother should.

Our problems were few

we had a good life,

but our long married years

shows minimum strife.

As age set in

her health declined,

her body did suffer

but she had a sharp mind.

She did not complain

she did what she could,

some time I think

more than she should.

Her last years were bad

no relief from the pain,

her suffering was great

but she did not complain.

She no longer suffers

she's gone from this life,

but to me she will be

the love of my life.
