Obituary

In Loving Memory of
Marcella Stella Tripp

Marcella Stella Tripp, 93,of Kettle Falls,  passed away on May 10, 2024 in Colville, Washington. She was born July 27, 1930 in Worthington, Minnesota to the late Anton and Thea (Benson) Theien.

Marcella (Marcy) was the baby of the family and the youngest of 7. She and her siblings grew up on a farm in Minnesota with their loving father, Anton, a mason, and their mother, Thea, a very creative seamstress and amazing homemaker. Marcy would later meet Jim Fredricks and they would marry in 1950 and start a beautiful family. They had five kids and raised them mostly in the Troy, Montana area. Marcy was very proud of all of her children and made them feel special and loved at all times. Marcella (affectionately known as Grandma Silly) made every home they had growing up beautiful and cozy, no matter where it was or how long they stayed. She was a wonderful cook. All the pies, bread and cinnamon rolls she baked were delicious and made with love. She was a wonderful mom and was very supportive of any sport or activity her kids and grandkids were a part of. Marcy loved to play board and card games and loved to win!! She passed along this competitive spirit to her kids!

Marcella was never happier than when she was spending time with her kids and grandkids, and enjoying the birds and flowers in her beautiful yard. She was also a woman of faith and Christmas and Easter were such special times to her, especially when spending them with family.

The family moved to Kettle Falls, Washington in 1974 and Jim passed away in 1975.

Marcy met Fred Tripp in 1978 and they were married in 1979. They enjoyed many years of traveling, and dancing, Shriner's events and family barbecues. Fred passed away in 1994.

Marcella is survived by her 3 daughters, Marcia (Ken) Countryman of Kettle Falls, Jamie (Glenn) Lickfold of Kettle Falls, WA,  Judy (Damon) Bircher of Kettle Falls, WA, two sons, Mike (Marlene) Fredricks of Colville, WA, John (Carol) Fredricks of Edgewood, WA, and was also blessed to have 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, numerous spouses of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a very special "sister" Bev Tripp.
