In Loving Memory

M. Ann Morey

M. Ann Morey, age 75, a lifetime resident of the Colville and Kettle Falls, WA areas, passed away on Nov. 18, 2023, at her Colville, WA home. Ann was born on August 5, 1948, in Colville, WA the daughter of Kenneth and Opal Cordelia (Camden) Herrick.

She was raised and attended school in Colville. Ann graduated in 1966 from Colville High School and soon married Roger Philpott. Together they began a family and Ann worked in the home raising their 4 children, Sandi, Barb, Tana and Joe. Ann and Roger divorced, and later Ann married William Bray for a time. Together they had one son, William Bray Jr.  She then married Henry Goff.  They shared the birth of a daughter, Jody. As the kids grew older, Ann began working outside of the home. She worked locally for Boise Cascade sawmill, Pinewood and Buena Vista Nursing homes. Ann married Mike Morey and they resided in Colville where she opened her own engraving business named Morey Country Engraving.  She operated the engraving business for several years. She then turned her attention to Child Protective Services with the Department of Social and Health Services. She later retired and continued caregiving for family and friends until her health began to decline with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.  Ann passed away at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.

Ann loved people and therefore her time was devoted to sharing events and moments no matter how large or seemingly small.  She was a caregiver by nature and was always in motion.  Ann enjoyed horseback riding, canning, gardening and playing cards and dice.  She was a bit of a spitfire, spicy and strong willed. Above all, she loved deeply and was abundant in her generosity.

Ann was active in the community as a volunteer and helped with the Stevens County Rodeo, Arden Old Timers Rodeo and was a passed President of the Colville Eagles Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandi Morgan and her brother, Fred Herrick.

Ann is survived by her husband, Mike Morey, at the home; children, Barb Philpott of Kettle Falls, WA, Tana Johnston of Loon Lake, WA, Joe Philpott (Meka) of Kettle Falls, WA, William Bray of Chattaroy, WA, Jody Craig (Christopher) of Kettle Falls, WA, Nicole Conway (Ron) of Lincoln, WA, Kenn Morey of Spokane, WA; 23 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty Balcom (Monte) of Ellensburg, WA, Edith Cress (George) of Medimont, ID; several nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
