Lillian Kay
Church
Mar 26, 1967 — Feb 2, 2024
Colville
Lillian Kay Church, age 56, a longtime resident of Colville, WA passed away on February 2, 2024 at her home from complications of lung cancer. Lillian was born on March 26, 1967 in Colville, WA the daughter of Paul Henry and Ila May (Wagner) Schuerman.
She was raised in Colville where she attended school and graduated in 1985 as a 12-year senior from Colville High School. Lillian then married Jessie Lotze and they moved to Sacramento, CA. Following their divorce, Lillian remained in Sacramento where she met Dave Parker. They soon began a family and in 1997 moved to Colville with their two children, Russell and Myranda. Lillian loved her role as a mother and worked in the home caring for the needs of her growing family. Dave and Lillian would soon welcome the birth of their third child, Ryan. Lillian was very involved with her children's activities in both school and the extracurricular. She supported them in scouting badges and adventure with both the Boy Scout and Girl Scouts of America. Once her children were a bit older, Lillian began working outside the home. She began work at the Safeway in Colville where she enjoyed the numerous interactions with friends and friends-to-be. Lillian then complimented her love of people with her love for animals and began working at the Colville Pet-shop. There she met Paul Church and a friendship later grew into the exchange of marriage vows on June 19, 2010. In 2007, Lillian had purchased the Pet-shop. Lillian had the gift of gab and took great care of customers. She took the time to make sure that the needs of pet and pet provider were both met. After closing the store, her subsequent work opportunities included Pizza Factory, Sears and Mt. Carmel Hospital. Due to a decline in health, Lillian had to take an early retirement from work and immersed herself in the love of family.
Lillian was a caregiver by nature and found great fulfillment in watching over and attending to the needs of her family. Her heart filled will excitement and joy when she spent time with grandchildren. She was a "spitfire" redhead who was not shy to offer her thoughts nor hold her opinion. She remembered wrongdoings done to her or her family forever, but would offer forgiveness and kindness in due time. Paul reflected that she was the most loving person he had ever known. She was the calm in the storm, patient and gentle, a guiding light for her family and friends. Lillian loved to pick mushrooms, huckleberries, garden and enjoy the surrounding beauty of the outdoors. She gave hand sewn treasures of quilts and Christmas Tree skirts that she made herself. Lillian was creative, nurturing and poured her love over all she could.
Lillian was a volunteer fireman with the Arden Fire Department for several years. She was proud to have been awarded the R.E.L. Shoes 1968 baby contest winner and the 1984 Stevens County Cattlemen Association Beef Queen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Schuerman.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Paul Church, at the home; children, Russell Parker (Kendall) of Colville, WA, Myranda Aubert (Matthew) of Colville, WA, Ryan Parker of Colville, WA, step-children, Shiann Minton (JD) of Missoula, MT, Craig Drake (Karlee) of Colville, WA, Susan Johnston (Robbie of Spokane, WA, Alexandria Church of Rathdrum, ID, Paul Church Jr. of Mounds View, MN, Zachary Church (Tessa) of Chewelah, WA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Louise Schuerman (Dan) of Spokane, WA, Virginia Nicholas (Wayne) of Lovell, WY, Pauline Bettencourt (Roy) of Reno, NV, David Schuerman (Merrie) of Colville, WA, Norma Harras (Peter) of Spokane, WA, Joyce Schuerman of Port Angeles, WA, Larry Schuerman (April) of Colville, WA; Sister-at-heart, Shannan Dawson, and a host of extended family and friends.
