Lawren Kenneth McDonald

"Beau"

Mar. 15, 1953 – Sept. 7, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved husband and father, Lawren "Beau" McDonald who passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 7, 2021. Beau is survived and mourned by his best friend and wife of 45 years, Lou Ann; his two loving sons,

Brandon and Tyler; sister, Collen Kolodzey; all family, and dear friends.

Beau was born to Dorothy and John "Rusty" McDonald in Burbank, California on Mar. 15, 1953. Being raised in a family whose father was a wrangler for Universal Studios, it was no surprise that Beau himself made a career in the motion picture industry.

He married the love of his life, Lou Ann Martin on July 31, 1976 in Tahoe City, Nevada. On their honeymoon, they drove to Washington State where they bought property in Chewelah with a plan to build there someday in the future. In the meantime, they settled in Sunland, California where they bought a home and raised their family – sons, Brandon and Tyler. Beau instilled in their boys a love of family, adventure, hard work and fun - from the many boating trips and family campouts up the coast, to the times they followed Beau on the movie sets 'on location' around the country.

The family left California and moved to Chewelah, Washington in 1992, but Beau continued to work in LA until he retired. He loved his job. He loved working for the studios and all the coworkers/friends he met along the way. Over the years, he regaled us with many good tales. Beau was very proud of his 36 year career with the studios.

Beau loved all things mechanical. He could fix anything and shared that with his sons: vehicles, old cars, hot-rods – anything with a motor! He loved to cruise swap meets in search of that special car part. He was a collector with a dream.

Beau had a huge heart. Always ready to lend a helping hand and boost you with a joke and that twinkle in his eye, he made an indelible impression on anyone who met him. He was a people person and an optimist, his glass was always half-full. Jolly, the life of the party, Beau could find humor in everything. Friends, too many to name, were an important part of his life through the years, from the Sunland "Homeboys" to those in more recent times. Many were graced by his jovial nicknames. All will remember him as a kind, loving, generous, gentle giant of a man. His sense of humor and keen wit never failed to make us laugh and love him more. Above all, Beau loved his family and was loved by them in return.

Gone too soon. Dearly missed. Loved forever.

The family wishes to thank the many dear friends and family who offered their love and support.

All are invited to join in a Celebration of Life for Beau, to be announced at a later date. Please visit the on-line memorial and sign the guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com.
