In Loving Memory

LaVada Ruth O'Neil

LaVada R. O'Neil (78), of Colville WA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 6, 2023. She was one of six siblings born to Anthony and Josie Moore on October 12, 1944 in Madera, California.

Shortly before graduating from high school she met her husband, Timothy O'Neil and they were married on June 8, 1963.  She always told her friends that she didn't want to date a military guy so for the first few months of their courtship she was led to believe that Tim was a Shoe Salesman until it was obvious that their relationship was becoming serious and he had to fess up that he was actually enlisted in the Air Force. Shortly after they were married they returned to Tim's hometown, Hoodsport, WA.  Over the years they relocated to Port Angeles, Sequim, Marysville, and her final destination, Colville, WA.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Timothy O'Neil; children, Paige (Eric) Olson of Arlington, WA and Rhonda (Fred) Berger of Colville, WA; grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart, Jordan (Tyler) Roodzant, Briley (Kelsey) Olson, Zach (Codi) O'Neil and Julieanne (JD) Hendrickson; great grandchildren Avery and Kaysen Roodzant, Summer O'Neil, Morgan and Hannah Hendrickson; extended family Trey Nance, nephew Pat (Ginny) O'Neil, eight nieces, sister-in-law Jodean Edelheit, and special friends throughout her journey.

LaVada found great joy in spending time with her family.  She enjoyed camping, golfing and the outdoors and was always up for new adventures.  She is remembered fondly as the "fun grandma", always coming up with creative craft projects, musical skits, collecting bugs and snakes and New Years' Eve sleepovers.  Her love, laughter and warm hugs will be in our hearts forever!
