Obituary

Lawrence Alvin Rogers was born February 18, 1935 to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rogers in Everett, WA, the 7th child of a family of ten children.  His father was a carpenter so Larry spent his young life in the Everett, WA area.  In 1949 Mr. Rogers would move the family to the Addy-Gifford area.  Larry attended the Hunter's School for a year and then went to Kettle Falls where he met the girl of his life, Eileen Fish.  Upon graduation from Kettle Falls High School, the couple would marry and begin a 70 year life long adventure together.  Shortly after marrying, the couple moved to Spokane where Larry went to work for the CNSP&P Railroad.  In 1956 Larry was transferred to the MILW Railroad Coast Division out of Tacoma, WA where he relieved agents and operators for sick leave and vacations.  In 1961, Larry became the agent at Chehalis, WA.  He held this position until the Milwaukee Railroad closed it down.  At that time, Larry and Eileen had started a 320 acre dairy.  They had fun building it to a 100 cow dairy.

In 1979 Larry and Eileen sold their holdings and moved to Colville, WA .  In 1980, Larry went to work for the Washington DOT in Colville and retired in 2000.  Upon retiring, they traveled to Arizona for the winters and to visit family and friends elsewhere.

Eileen and their family were everything to Larry.  He was fiercely loyal and dedicated to them all.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; 4 sisters; 1 grandson; and 1 great grandson.  He is survived by his wife, Eileen at the home; 5 children – Ken (Becky), Donna Drake (Dale), Diane Fitzgerald (Ray), and Darrel (Wendy), Randy (Lanette); 18 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
