Kevin Ray Godes

Kevin Ray Godes, age 63, a longtime resident of Colville, WA passed away on Sept. 14, 2021 in Colville following a battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  Kevin was born on Aug. 15, 1958 in Spokane, WA the son of Nicholas John and Viola Lorraine (Stecker) Godes.

He attended the majority of his education in Colville with the exception of two years of Catholic school in Spokane.  Kevin graduated in 1976 from Colville High School at work locally until enlisting in the U.S. Army.  He served in the Army for 5 years and was honorably discharged, returning then to Spokane.  He continued to reside in Spokane where he married Jenny.   They welcomed four children Holly, Heather, Kourtney and KeLicia.  Kevin and Jenny's marriage came to an end in 1990.  Kevin remained in Spokane and traveled to Alaska where he would work in Dutch Harbor on the fishing boats.  He later attended truck driving school and began long haul truck driving for several companies.  On December 12, 1999, Kevin married his longtime friend from high school named, Carroll Stinson.  They combined families and made their home in Colville, WA.  Kevin continued long haul trucking until his decline in health require he retire in the spring of 2020.

Kevin enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors with his family as they grew.  He loved to fish local lakes and stream and was a longtime league bowler in Colville.  Kevin was an avid follower of NASCAR and enjoyed playing in the fantasy driver league every year.  He was a regular attendee of his grandchildren's sporting events and faithful supporter.  He spoke loudly in conversation but always with a quietly kind and caring nature.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Godes and his brother, Keith Godes.

He is survived by his wife, Carroll Godes of Colville, WA; six children, Teresa Hydorn (Andy) of Colville, WA Casey Stinson (Amber) of Colville, WA, Holly Doyle (Todd) of Arizona, Heather Thomas (Travis) of Nine Mile Falls, WA, Kourtney Tucker (Darrell) of Spokane, WA, KeLicia Shorts (Percy Johnson) of Spokane, WA; mother, Lorraine Godes of Colville, WA;  siblings Ron Godes of Nampa, ID, Gary Godes (Donna) of Northport, WA, Larry Godes (Sharie) of Baker City, OR; numerous grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a host of extended family.

Mr. Kevin R. Godes will be laid to rest in the niche wall at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery with a memorial gathering to follow at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Reception Hall in Colville, WA.  Memorial contributions may be given to any organization working toward the cure of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.  Please visit the online memorial and sign the guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com .  Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.
