Karalyn "Kay" Urhausen
Karalyn Kay Urhausen, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, in Spokane, Washington, with her family by her side. She was born on October 12, 1942, in Prineville, Oregon, to Hubert and Jeanette Reed.
Kay graduated from Kettle Falls High School in 1960. On December 26, 1961, she married John R. Urhausen, and together they built a life centered around family and home. As a devoted homemaker, Kay took great pride in caring for her loved ones and creating a warm and welcoming environment.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John R. Urhausen.
Kay is lovingly remembered by her: Sister, Hazel Curtiss of Spokane, Washington; Daughter's : Raelene Parker (Mike) of Spokane, Washington; Julie Wastman of Puyallup, Washington; Christina Corneil (Cory) of Spokane, Washington; and Shannon Fletcher (Mike) of Spokane, Washington. She also leaves behind her cherished granddaughters: Whitney Bowerman (Brent) of Spokane, Washington; Cassandra Bowman (Kameron) of Spokane, Washington; Alexandra Foster (Mike) of Abilene, Texas; and Samantha Frostad of Tacoma, Washington; and very close friend: Joan Webber of Spokane, Washington. Her legacy continues through her six great-grandchildren: Landon, Marlee, Ackley, Gunner, Maverick, and Declan.
Kay was a proud member of the KF Lady Lions and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed working in her yard, playing cards with friends, spending time at the lake cabin, and most of all, being surrounded by her family.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery in Colville, Washington, followed by a celebration of life at TJ's Tavern in Kettle Falls.
Kay will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
