Obituary

Kacie Aleece Peterson, age 33, an accomplished young spirit, who disappeared in the early winter of 2012, passed away on March 23, 2025, in New York City, NY.  Kacie was born on July 17, 1991, in Sandpoint, ID the daughter of Henry Mayer and Christine Marie (Fischer) Peterson Jr.

Kacie was raised in northern Stevens County on their family farm.  Her love for animals shined brightly especially for her horse, Daisy May, and the mules.  In the winter season, Kacie spent a significant amount of her time on the local ski hills where she became an accomplished ski racer.  She also qualified and was invited to Whistler's Cup in Whistler, BC.  Kacie attended Northport Elementary School and Colville High School.  She was an avid reader and read at an elevated adult level from the time she was young.  Her extraordinary merits were recognized at a national level with the U.S. Airforce when she invited and attended a very selective U.S. Air Force summer seminar in Colorado Springs, CO during her junior year in high school.  During Kacie's senior year at Colville High School, she experienced a seizure and was diagnosed with dissociative amnesia.  She sought a fresh start and moved to Brentwood, NY where she graduated from Brentwood High School in 2011.  Kacie then continued her education in New York City at the John J. College of Criminal Justice in 2011.  In 2012, Kacie disappeared and became a missing person and was reported missing with the Steven County Sherriff's department.  With gratitude beyond words, Kacie's family received exceptional help through the Steven's County Sherriff's office who kept them well informed on leads and updated information regarding her search.  Kacie has been absent from her family for the past 13 years and her presence will be missed their lifelong.

Kacie was preceded in death by her mother, Christine Peterson in 1998.

She is survived by her father, Henry Peterson and stepmother, Debbe, at the home; sister, Kelcie Peterson in Paradise, CA; brother, Conner Peterson, USAF Anchorage, AK and a host of extended family and friends.

Kacie will be laid to rest with her mother, Christine, at the Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville, WA at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 13, 2025.  Memorial contributions in Kacie's memory may be given to the Stevens County Deputy Sherriff's association.  Please share your condolences and memories of Kacie on her online memorial at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com.  Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.
