Judith Faye Phillips

Judith "Judy" Faye Phillips, age 82, a longtime resident of Northport, WA passed away on November 23, 2021 in Northport, WA.  Judy was born on June 4, 1939, in Metaline, WA the daughter of Arthur John and Cleo Ethel (Gibson) Ritter.

Judy's family moved often as they follow her father's work opportunities.  She attended school at the Spirit School near Northport and then finished her education at the Northport High School. Following high school, Judy worked a variety of local jobs in the Northport area.  While attending a community dance, she met a young serviceman named Fred Phillips.   A short courtship followed and they exchanged vows on April 19, 1958 at the Northport Grange.  They began a family and Judy worked in the home.  She baked amazing meals and shared some of her cooking talent with the local restaurants helping them out from time to time.  Judy's passion was her family and she was actively involved in their education and athletic activities throughout their entire education.  Her passion continued into the support of her grandchildren from their births and birthdays to their school activities and bench warming opportunities.

Judy and Fred enjoyed many camping and fishing trips with their kids up Sheep Creek and Mitchel Mountain.  She made amazing chocolates and beautiful floral crafts which she sold at local craft shows.  Judy also looked forward to any gathering where cards were the game of choice and good conversation, laughter and company could be shared.  Her large garden helped to feed her family throughout the year and what she couldn't use was shared with her community.

Judy was deeply rooted in the Northport Community and gave back whenever possible.  She was also a longtime member of the Silver Crown Homemakers Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred in 2016; daughter, Tammy Lenderman in 2021 and her sister Donna Waters in 2012.

Judy is survived by her children, Vicki Hicks (Thom) of Northport, WA, Lisa Husser (Mike) of St. Regis, MT, Troy Phillips (Margaret) of Northport; son-in-law, Scott Lederman of Longview, WA; special granddaughter, Windy Town (Brent); grandchildren, Tommy Hicks, Darren Lenderman, Stephen Pinc, Michael Linderman, Jessica Huitt, Kayla Kingsbury, Kristina Warren, Deserae Phillips, Trevor Phillips and Siera Phillips; sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Bache and Ardith Vernieuwe; many nieces and nephews.
