In Loving Memory
JUANITA HERMOSILLA ANSOTIGUE
JUANITA HERMOSILLA ANSOTIGUE went home to be with Jesus on January 7, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born June 16, 1929 in Ormoc City, Leyte in the Philippines.
At a young age she became a washer girl doing laundry for soldiers. She met Juan B. Ansotigue, a Corporal serving in the United States Army 1st Filipino Infantry Regiment. They were married on Clark Air Force Base on January 28th, 1951.
Juan returned to the United States where he worked for the Great Northern Railway and he prepared their home in Northport, WA for Juanita's arrival. As soon as her paperwork was in order, she made the journey from the Philippines to the United States and they began their new life together in Northport.
Juan and Juanita welcomed their first child, John, on December 25th, 1951. Helena was born two years later and Susan followed two years after Helena. Three years later their 3rd daughter, Teri, was born, making their family complete.
Juanita was very active in the Northport community. She was a member of the Northport Presbyterian Church where she spent many years teaching Sunday School. She was also a hard worker around the church. Juanita was a member of the Northport American Legion Auxiliary and the PTO. She served on the Northport Medical Clinic board as well.
Juanita also spent many hours at her children's schools as room mother for most of their holiday celebrations and she helped with many other various events. She was a huge supporter of her kids, grandkids and her great-grandkids as well in whatever they were involved in, especially their sports. She attended as many of their events as she could up until just a few years ago.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Juan B. Ansotigue and daughter Susan Klugow. She is survived by son, John (Kris) Ansotigue in Auburn, WA, daughter Helena (Dave) Reynolds in Federal Way, WA and daughter Teri (Ray) Sell in Colville, WA. She has 9 grandchildren: Danielle, Stacy (Fiancé Carl) & Kendra Ansotigue, Jana & Jason (Julie) Reynolds, Erin (Dan) Holms, Aly (Brian) Plass, Jeff (Stef) Sell and Jessica (Cody) Heater. And 11 great-grandkids called her Grandma Nita as well: Alex & Eli Preval, Patrick Fleming III, Jonny & Jonah Reynolds, Oliver & Preston Holms, Deakon & Sierah Sell and Bailee & Braedon Heater.
