Jolynne 'Joey' Kay Wood

Jolynne 'Joey' Wood passed away peacefully on November 17 ^th , 2021 at Holy Family Hospital, due to complications from the covid-19 virus.

Joey was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 19 ^th , 1958 to Glen and Jean Wood.  She spent her childhood as a navy brat, growing up in different cities, and even a couple years in Spain.  She graduated from Kettle Falls High School in 1976.  Shortly after graduation Joey married and started her family, bringing 6 beautiful souls into this world.  Joey would later get her AA degree in accounting from Spokane Community College.

Joey loved to read, pick huckleberries for hours in the summer, and volunteer at the warming shelter each winter. She had a beautiful singing voice that she lent to the church choir and used for karaoke. Joey could always be counted on as a friend, and was always up for a board or card game.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher; sister, Glenna; brother, Dale; and father, Glen. She is survived by 5 of her children, Bobby, Kassie, Theresa, Brianna and Sydney; mother, Jean; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 23 ^rd , at 10:00 am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Colville, WA.  There will be a graveside memorial following the service, and celebration of life at the Elks at 12:00 pm.
