Obituary

Jessica Elizabeth Brummer-Levy, age 23, a longtime resident of Colville, WA passed away Jan. 14, 2025 in Spokane, WA.  Jessica was born on Feb. 8, 2001 in Auburn, WA the daughter of Scott Thomas Levy and Mary Beth Brummer.

Jessica moved with her family to Spokane at the age of 3 and a year later they continued north to Colville, WA.  Jessica began grade school in Colville and continued her education through her senior year.  She graduated in 2019 as a twelve-year senior of Colville High School.    While in 7th and 8th grade, she was introduced to cheerleading and soon became captain of the cheer team.  She continued to cheer when she entered high school and was as active part of the cheer team all four years.  She was a regular voice of inspiration on the sidelines of the basketball court and football field.  Jessica enjoyed the cheer camps and competitions in which they participated throughout high school. She supported the cheer team even after high school as an assistant coach.  After graduation, Jessica moved to Spokane and enrolled in the interior design program at Spokane Falls Community College.  She worked at the Van's store while in Spokane and embraced the employee discount program which helped her create an impressive collection of van's shoes and clothing apparel.  Her collection was so extensive that some of the shoes were brand new in-the-box.  Eventually Jessica returned to Colville and began working at Westside Pizza and then to Summit Lake Labs.  Jessica also enjoyed working periodically at Jamin Java where she offered her technical knowhow and food preparation skills.  Most recently she had returned to her employment roots at Westside Pizza.

Jessica was raised on classic rock and roll and live music.  Her love for music was diverse and ranged from the classics of Journey, Styx, Foreigner, and the Grateful Dead to contemporary groups of Eminem and Five Seconds of Summer.  She traveled whenever possible to live concerts and music venues across the U.S including Aftershock and Coachella.   Most recently she travelled to Chicago to re-attend Lollapalooza.  From the age of 20, Jessica began continual treatment and several surgical interventions for a rare diagnosis of liver cancer.  She continued working through the pain and ominous challenges of the disease and terminal prognosis.  Jessica even fulfilled her dream of visiting Paris to which she travelled on her own.   She conserved her energies for work and select social outings (normally oriented around music concerts).  Jessica had an amazing internal strength and fortitude.  She had a bubbly personality and offered cheer to others whenever she could.  Her determination came with a strong will and fierce independence.  She loved to shared her pastime with her numerous cats, close friends, and her family.

Jessica was preceded in death by her mother; Mary Beth Brummer; grandparents, Warren Levy and Jackie Brummer and a half-brother, Matthew Brummer.

She is survived by her dad and step-mom, Scott Levy (Kristina) of Colville, WA; half-brother, Michael Brummer of Spokane Valley, WA; grandmother, Judith Levy of Sumner, WA and an uncle, Glenn Levy of Reno, NV; great-uncle, Thomas Moots of Gig Harbor, WA; and cousin, Jennifer Moots of Spanaway, WA.
