In Loving Memory

James Lawrence Schumacher Jr.

James Lawrence Schumacher Jr. passed away January 17, 2024. He was born on April 2, 1946, to James Lawrence Schumacher and Rosalie Mae Schumacher in Riverside County, California.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Alan; and his grandparents.

He is survived by his niece, Melissa (Robert) Zyskowski of Colville, Washington; loving family members Vicki (John) Hanks, Crystal (John) Ayers and J.E. Hanks; and numerous other extended family.

Jim attended school from first grade in Alberhill, California until he graduated (Lake) Elsinore High School in 1965. He lived in Alberhill and Lake Elsinore all his life until he joined the U.S. Navy. He soon decided he wanted to be part of the Aviation Department and attended boot camp in Twin Lakes, Michigan. He retired from Miramar Naval Base in Miramar, California in the 1980s.

Jim was a butcher for several meat companies and became a certified accountant in Riverside, California where he resided until moving to Curlew in 1989 to be with John and Vicki Hanks and his niece's family, the Zyskowskis.

Jim became a part of the Republican Caucus for the state of Washington and was an active community member, serving on many boards of various committees throughout Ferry County. He was a kind-hearted man with a very contagious laugh and a twinkle in his eyes whenever he was up to mischief, which was frequently. He will be missed by many but is now dancing in heaven.

Memorial services will be held this summer in Republic, Washington.

Please visit the online memorial website and sign his guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Republican Caucus or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
