Kettle Falls

Obituary

James "Jim" Paul Green, age 63, a 29-year resident of Kettle Falls, WA passed away on June 27, 2022 in Kettle Falls, WA. Jim was born on July 24, 1958 in Palo Alto, CA the son of James Hillary and Jane Sevier; Green.

Their family moved to Texas, the Galveston Bay area for a time and then north to Washington State, the Kent-Covington area. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served stateside following the Vietnam War. Jim was honorably discharged and returned to Western Washington where he started a career in commercial construction as a union carpenter. Jim's favorite job was as a rigger for the crane operators and his specialty was concrete work. If the job was large, that's where you could find him. Jim worked on numerous enormous building contracts in the Seattle area including the Bank of America building. He also worked on the construction of the Sacred Heart Children's Hospital, Geiger Prison and RiverFront Park parking garage. His son's often said "he worked harder on the weekends than most men do during the week". He moved to Kettle Falls in 1993 and has resided and contributed to Kettle Falls area for the past 29 years. He loved his family and worked tirelessly to make a beautiful home. He called it Sweet Haven, as it was a place of grace and peace beloved by those lucky enough to be invited.

Jim took great pride in his role as a provider and supportive husband. He had strong convictions and stayed true to his beliefs. His privacy was important to him but he held close to those he loved. He was fearless both professionally and privately, always taking on the big jobs and the adrenaline rushing adventures. Jim had a creative flare with metals and enjoyed making sheet metal art from old car bodies. His family will continue to treasure the variety of eagles, fish, bears, mustangs and other wildlife figures he constructed and fabricated from metal. His wild stories of adventure will remain alive in his family's hearts and minds. He puttered with purpose and was always in motion.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Green at the home; three step children, Christopher Miller (Demi) of Deer Park, WA, Jeremey Miller (Samantha) of Spokane, WA, Hollieanne James (Lucas) of Spokane, WA; eight grandchildren; three siblings, Carl Green of Kettle Fall, WA, Sue Bakken of Deer Park, WA, Gerald Green (Lynn) of Enumclaw, WA; several nieces and nephews.
