Obituary for Hal "Jinx" Leedom, Jr.

November 13, 1942 – October 23, 2025

Hal Leedom, Jr., affectionately known as "Jinx," passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, in Spokane, Washington, at the age of 82. He was born on Friday, November 13, 1942, in Lakehurst, New Jersey — a date that inspired his lifelong nickname "Jinx," given to him by childhood friends.

Hal was the proud son of a U.S. Navy Aviator and a Registered Nurse, whose courage, and compassion shaped the foundation of his character. Their example instilled in him the values of service, strength, and loyalty for others that he carried throughout his life.

For 63 years, Hal shared an extraordinary marriage with his beloved wife, Carole Leedom. Together they built a home filled with laughter, loyalty, and love. He was the devoted father of Lance Leedom (Margaret) and Pandi Leedom Gardner (Mike), and he loved his family with unmatched pride and devotion.

Hal proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy Parachute Rigger, where his skill, courage, and dedication earned him the respect of all who served beside him. He had an unshakable passion for flight and adventure; making more than 2,000 skydives during his lifetime. His time in the Navy reflected not only his sense of duty but also his love for life lived to the fullest. After serving in the Navy, Hal became a commercial truck driver where he made a career driving for Bekins, Payless Drug Stores and Winco Foods.  After retiring, he remained committed to his fellow veterans as a lifetime member of both the American Legion and VFW.

Hal was a lifelong sports enthusiast, cheering wholeheartedly for the Seattle Mariners, Seahawks, Colts and the Navy Midshipman. His loyalty to his teams mirrored his spirit — unwavering, passionate, and full of energy.

Known for his strength, loud laugh, and fearless nature, Hal was a true warrior and hero. He faced every challenge with determination and every day with joy. His presence filled every room, his laughter lifted every heart, and his love for his family and friends will echo forever.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Fair winds and following seas, Jinx.
