Garry Eugene Norman was born on October 28, 1949 in Chewelah Washington. Garry grew up in a large family in the Valley area. After graduating from Mary Walker High School in 1968 he volunteered for the U.S. Army and he served in the Vietnam War. He served with the 20th Engineers Brigade 984th Land Clearers Company. Garry was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and he was the recipient of the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars.
