Ernest Deree
Van Fredenberg

Colville
In Loving Memory
Ernest Deree Van Fredenberg
Ernest was born November 22, 1945 in Madison, Wisconsin to George H. and Caroline E. Fredenberg. He passed away on September 8, 2022 in Colville, Washington.
He was a member of the National Guard from 1963 to 1999. He also worked as a road engineer for the Federal Forest Service from 1963 to 1969. Ernest had long hours of friendships and helping people with building projects. He spent a lot of time building several houses and working with his kids on their endless housing projects and endeavors. He loved the forest, land and his collection of roses. Collecting things he loved and sharing that with others was one of his great passions. If it wasn't time to build then it was time to dance. Dad spent a lot of time on the dance floor. What started out as swing dance lessons ended up with years of ballroom lessons and dancing. He was building during the day and dancing at night. His favorite house he built had a huge dance floor built into it. Countless hours of dancing were done there and chasing his favorite dog Nicky (a Great Dane) around the dance floor.
Everyone that knew Ernie knew him as an honest PG person. He was a straight arrow and liked things to be comfortable and wholesome. Everyone friendly and getting along. He loved all his great grandchildren, great grandchildren and his kids with all his heart. He was playful and fun-loving humor with teasing laughter at his fun sayings. To many to quote here. He will be sorely missed, loved forever, never forgotten by all that knew him.
He was survived by his children Amber Van Fredenberg of Spokane, Washington, Janice Flood (Jeff) of Colville, Washington and Jason Van Fredenberg (Sue) of Colville, Washington, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:00a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory in Colville. Ernest will be laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery in Couer D'Alene, Idaho.
