She attended Catholic school throughout grade school and then transferred to Roger High School as a freshman.  Bette graduated from Roger High School and then began working for the Crescent in downtown Spokane.  She met Donald Gibson in Deer Park and they began a courtship that led to marriage.  They began a family and eventually moved to Newport, WA in 1963.  Don worked as a game warden and Bette worked at the local pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.  They moved to Colville in 1978 and continued working and raising their family.  Bette worked at Frank's Pharmacy in downtown Colville for many years.  She retired from Walmart as their Jewelry clerk after 12 years with the company.

Bette's devotion was always to her family and the support of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She has spent over 50 years bench warming and traveling to games.    Bette was an avid fan of Gonzaga and paced the floor, in front of the T.V., giving Mark Few constant pointers and guidance.  She was a banana bread maker who baked banana bread to perfection and never let a guest leave her home hungry.  Her family loving named her "Papa's Grandma" and she loved the title and role.  Bette had an incredible sense of humor that kept those near her laughing and her character kept them wrapped in continuous love.  She fed all, mothered all and smoother them all in love.
