Obituary

Douglas George Sundheim

Douglas George Sundheim, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, born on December 17, 1967 to George and Sharon Sundheim passed away at home with his family on August 12, 2022 after a battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife Sharon (Estelle) Sundheim of 35 years, Son Derek Sundheim (Nicole) and children Owen and Allie of Colville, Son Matthew Sundheim (Karmela) and children Jocelyn and Ethan of Oregon, Sister Connie Brozik (Jim) Kettle Falls, and his dad George Sundheim in Spokane as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

Doug and Sharon were high school sweethearts and were married in August of 1987 right after Sharon graduated from high school. He was always a hard worker and took pride in his work no matter what the job was and always took good care of his family. He began logging not long before they got married and worked in the industry for 20 plus years running several different pieces of equipment. He especially enjoyed running the cat and building roads the most during his time logging. He then made a career change and started welding at Colmac Coil in 2008 and eventually moved into quality control as a welding inspector. He was passionate about hunting and fishing and just enjoyed the great outdoors. He especially liked teaching and helping his wife and kids learn how to hunt and fish. There were many fun hours spent out on the water, hiking or exploring the mountains on his ATV. He was always up for a good adventure and enjoyed traveling with his wife and kids. He especially liked being a grandfather and was proud of his sons and his grandkids. He was as tough as nails but had a heart of an angel and was always helping people whenever he could and will be greatly missed by many.

The Funeral Mass for Doug will be 11:00 am Monday, August 22, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colville, Washington. There will be a visitation one hour prior.
