In Loving Memory
Douglas Elton Stach
Born October 16, 1946 to parents Elton Chauncy Stach and Beulah Agnes (Grenier) Stach in Breckenridge, Minnesota. Douglas graduated in the Class of 1964 from Breckenridge High School. He would then attend Moorhead State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Douglas passed away peacefully July 15, 2025 at the age of 78 at his home in Chewelah, Washington with his wife, Mary and family at his side after a long fight with agent orange complications.
Douglas was a Sergeant in the United States Air Force serving his country from 1965-1969. During his tour in Vietnam, he was exposed to Agent Orange. Doug was proud to say that he was an Agent Orange Survivor.
Perhaps his greatest accomplishments were that of his 55-year marriage and being a proud father and grandfather to his son, daughter, and grandchildren. Doug was the Proud Sport Grandpa – attending all of the sporting events his grandchildren were involved in. He worked alongside his oldest grandsons helping them complete their Eagle Scout requirements.
Douglas is survived by his wife Mary; son Christopher (Michelle), daughter Kelli (Chris) Melhus; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Loren (Peggy) and many cousins, nieces and nephews
No funeral services are planned at this time. Burial will be at Pine City, Washington. Please visit the Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory website and offer you condolences. Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory have been entrusted with Douglas' care.
