Donald Joseph "Don" Anderson

Donald J. Anderson, 64 of Colville, Washington died suddenly on April 12, 2024.

Don was born in Spokane, Washington on July 1, 1959. He was raised on Spokane's north side where he attended school and was active in the Boy Scouts.  He spent time in Quilcene, WA and later relocated to Colville, Washington where he resided for many years.   A self-taught naturalist, Don's passions included harvesting mushrooms and learning the medicinal uses of wildflowers, and other native plants. He loved foraging in the mountains and shared many tales about his escapades and adventures in the woodlands of the Pacific Northwest.  Don was a loving father and grandfather.  He was a friend to many and cherished his time with family.  Don had an exuberance for life and a strength of spirit regardless of what came his way.  He never gave up, always seeking new challenges, new projects and ways to express his creative side.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mary Anderson & by his brother David Anderson. He is survived by his two children, Zachariah (Zach) Allgaier (Lauren) and Emery Anderson ( Matthew Wallace ); grandchildren, Wyatt Wallace and Pearl Allgaier; brothers Douglas Anderson ( Spokane), Dwayne Anderson (Spokane), Dale Anderson (Coeur d'Alene, ID), Daniel Anderson (Bremerton, WA), Raymond Anderson (Owensboro, KY) & Kevin Anderson (Spokane); sisters Dorothy Sawyer (Spokane), Dolores Niebergall (Beaverton, OR), Rose Klaassen, (Aberdeen, WA), & Ruth Rocci, (Berkeley Springs (WV);  and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
