Dick Arnold Westman

Dick Arnold Westman, born on August 1, 1940, passed away on April 26, 2024 at the age of 83 due to heart failure exacerbated by COPD. Dick spent his early years in Spokane, WA. He graduated from North Central High School and served in the U.S. Army. He met and eventually married Joan Long and together Joan and Dick had two children. In the late 1970's Dick moved to Waitts Lake in Valley, WA. He worked at Northwest Alloys for 30 years before retiring at the age of 55.

In 1990 Dick married Arlene Westman. Arlene and Dick were both baseball and football enthusiasts. They never missed an opportunity to watch an MLB or NFL broadcast no matter which teams were playing. They also enjoyed road trips to California, visiting family and stopping at every casino along the way. Throughout their 28 years of marriage, they loved and cared for many pets (including Rowdy, their temperamental but devoted Dachshund).

Dick is survived by two children, Steve Westman and Kris Wylie, as well as five stepchildren, Victor Borst, David Cole, Brenda Stroyan, Tim Cole and Lorna Phillips. Dick was extremely proud of his many grandchildren and enjoyed sharing stories of their accomplishments.
