Obituary

Delvin LLoyd Knutson went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 18, 2023 at the age of 80 in Yuma, Arizona. He was born in Havre, Montana on October 25, 1942 to LLoyd Milo Knutson and Elanore Kickbush Knutson.

After graduating high school in western Washington Delvin entered the United States Air Force. He was stationed at McCord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Washington where he served as an active duty Jet Aircraft Mechanic from 1963 to 1967. He was honorably discharged at the
rank of Sergeant Airman First Class. From 1967 to 1969 he served as a reservist at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington.  Delvin was married to Dorothy L. Cook from 1969-1971 and had one daughter Rene Rumley. In 1970 he moved to Addy, Washington and started working for Fogle Implement in Colville Wa.  as a farm machinery mechanic. In 1972 he met Judy and her three sons Daniel, Dwayne and Charles. They were married on December 29, 1972. They had a farm where they enjoyed raising farm animals, horses, and grew a large garden. Delvin began working for Northwest Alloys in Addy, Washington in 1976 as a mechanic. He worked here until the plant shut down in 2001 and was offered early retirement. It was while working at NWA that Delvin became a certified EMT. After they raised their 4 kids they opened their home to more than 27 foster children over a number of years. Delvin then decided to go to RV repair school in Florida which helped him support he and Judy's travels with Mission America Placement Services (MAPS). They traveled all across America helping to build, reconstruct, remodel and repair churches within the Assemblies of God community. While traveling they made many cherished friends along the way. They retired
in Yuma, Arizona, but always made their way north to visit their children and grandchildren in the warmer summer months. For over 20 years while up north they would camp at Fruitland Bible camp in Fruitland, Washington helping with any repairs and maintenance needed to the
camp. While living in Yuma Delvin went to work for Al's RV Service and Supply. He said it was to support all of mother's crafting and quilting projects, but we all know it's because he liked to stay busy.

Delvin enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, huckleberry and mushroom picking. He was also a proficient water skier in his younger years. He liked to show off skiing with one ski while holding the ski rope with his other foot. He loved teaching his grandkids and great grandkids to
play his favorite game Fast Track. One of his biggest loves was food and cooking. Some would call him an avid "foodie" He was always thinking three meals ahead. He could always tell you the best restaurants in the area and the best thing to order off of each menu. There wasn't a
food he wouldn't try at least once. He enjoyed cooking for others, whether at home, church or other functions.  He loved to have company and showing them around, taking them to historical and interesting places giving you the history of the area as an unofficial tour guide.
Delvin cherished all the friends he and Judy made while living at Cactus Gardens in Yuma and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. They were always looking out for each other and had fun getting together for games and 3:00pm frappuccinos. He will be greatly
missed by all who knew him.

Delvin is preceded in death by his wife Judy V. Knutson of 46 years.
He is survived by his daughter Rene Rumley (Wayne) of Colville WA sons, Daniel Colt (Michelle) of Battle Ground WA. Dwayne Colt (Theresa) of Chewelah WA and Charles Hoots (Sandra) of Battle Ground WA thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
