In Loving Memory
Delbert Hallam
Delbert "Del" Hallam passed away at home on November 13, 2023. Del was born on September 5, 1947 and graduated from Kettle Falls High School. In May, 1967 he married the love of his life Sally Seitz. One year later, Delbert and Sally welcomed their only child, Raena.
Del was known as an avid horseman and made a living in his early years training many horses in the area. He especially loved team roping and became known as an accomplished heeler. Del also worked at Aveys lumber mill in Kettle Falls. He eventually went to work at NW Alloys / Alcoa and retired after 25 years.
Del never met a stranger, he had a big heart and thought of everyone as a friend. His sense of humor and easy laugh were admired by all who knew him. Hunters from around the NW would come to visit Del, even during the off season. Rumor had it he could call in a turkey from his lawn chair. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
Del is survived by his daughter Raena Hallam (Dave Willey), grandson Kyle Somerville (Samantha Hendrickson), granddaughter Hayden Somerville, sister Janice Benson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Del was preceded in death by his wife Sally (Seitz) Hallam, parents Loyal and Ellen (Hockersmith) Hallam, brothers Stan Hallam, Dave "Sonny" Hallam, Les Hallam and Eugene "Bobby" Hallam.
A celebration of life is planned for 3:00 p.m. on April 14, 2024 at the Kettle Falls Gun Club. The family welcomes all friends and acquaintances to share a day of remembrance in honor of a great man.
